Saturday, March 02, 2019 - Saturday, March 02, 2019
Groups: Atom, Peewee
On Saturday, March 2nd,
2019, the Bancroft & District Minor Hockey Association is hosting
the 2019 Mineral Capital Cup hockey tournament at the North Hastings
Community Centre; with the ice time being generously provided by your Canadian Tire Bancroft.
In past years,
the Mineral Capital Cup hockey tournament has been offered by
individual BDMHA teams in their respective divisions. For this year’s
one-day tournament on Saturday March 2nd,
teams from all over central and eastern Ontario are registered, from
Barry’s Bay, Huntsville, Tweed, Otonabee, and Douro, the Atom
and PeeWee Rep divisions.
It is also
planned that other divisions could be added next year, as the event gains
popularity over the upcoming hockey season and beyond. We are also exploring what time of year would make such an event more open to this expansion, so feel free to give feed back to the BDMHA Board Members.
Prior to and
during the tournament, the BDMHA will be offering a number of
fundraising opportunities to visitors and supporters, including
raffle tickets which are on sale now, a 50-50 draw, a silent auction
table, and other exciting programs. Prizes and donations for the
event have been graciously provided by the Toronto Maple Leafs NHL
team, local/regional area businesses and individuals, nearby AHL and
OHL teams, and local BDMHA past and present members themselves. A
sincere and special thank you goes out to this year’s Platinum
Sponsor, Canadian Tire of Bancroft, for providing this year’s ice
rental for the entire March 2nd
event.
The great game
action and hockey-focused fun starts bright and early on Saturday
morning at 8:00am and runs continuously with jam-packed excitement
until 7:00pm. The tournament’s game-by-game schedule is available
on the BDMHA’s website, at www.bancroftjets.com.
There is no admission to attend, but participation in the various
fundraising programs prior to and throughout the day are sincerely
appreciated by local youth representing Bancroft and area in minor
hockey during the season.
