Hockey Season has taken off for the Bierworth Bantam Jets
Hockey Season has taken off for the Jets in North Hastings and the Bierworth Bantams landed a win in their exhibition game against the Bears in Barry’s Bay.
The Madawaska Valley fans saw lots of action in the home team end of the net, resulting in a goal by James Armstrong (#2), assisted by Jake Coulas (#11). Scoring continued for the Jets, 12 minutes into the game, as Owen Genrick (#5) set up Brady Hunt (#7) to score. In the 2nd period, Genrick continued to fuel the Jets as he assisted the B-12 Bomber a.k.a. Kolton Stewart (#4). The Red Baron made his return, taxiing down the line for an uber solo goal. Jets defenceman Dylan Brownlee #13 sent in a solid shot while #5 tipped it in. The first goal of the final period soared from Riley Wilson (#14) to Caleb Grant (#17) until Armstrong (#2) sent it into the mesh. His momentum continued off the following face-off as #2 flew in from the face-off for a hat trick. The Jets final puck flight started with Dylan Cox (#9) continuing to Josh Boyd (#12) to Ethan Simpson who drove it home for a final score 8 - 0 in favour of the travelling Biertowrth Redi-Mix Bantam Jets. Kudos to Baily Robinson for shut out, the first of many to come. Also to the hosting Bears of Barry’s Bay. Stay tuned for a great season with this LEO league crew.
