Otonabee Wolves hosted our Bierworth Bantam Jets who were Keene to play. Extra effort would be required in this battle between these top two teams.
Coulas won the first faceoff and shot on net right out of the den. The captain of the canis lupus cubs scored the first goal of the game. Precision passes pounded between Stewart and Boyd in front of the net. The repeated rapid fire resulted in a goal by Boyd. After the game was tied, there was no shortage of shots on net. The crowd thought Coulas scored but the goal was declined. Brady was hunting for hides and skinned our 2nd goal. A whistle, and an offside caĺl, denied what looked momentarily like our 3rd. Armstrong bested 3 beasts and picked up his own rebound to set up Hunt to score off the deflection. Armstrong, again, wiled his way through the wolves and take us to 4:1. Page howled past the pack, and a ready Coulas scored as the Jets were shorthanded; 5 on 3. Hunt expertly executed a goal to end the 2nd period 6:1. A subtle slider by Grant garnered our 7th from Hunt's prime back pass. Brownlee's slapshot soared into the top of the net for our 8th. Boyd to Cox for a solid shot on net, that led to a ready deflection goal by Boyd. Armstrong cleverly capitalized on too much traffic in front of the net and another slider added to the roadkill. Genrick gained one for the scoreboard and then Paige another. Jet #30, Bailey Robinson held the Keene Wolves to one goal. Congrats Jets, for going without a loss so far this season.
