Bierworth Bantam Jets challenged the Norwood Hornets
Our Bierworth Bantam Jets challenged the Norwood Hornets Saturday, October 26.

The yellow jackets were not so dormant in the cold and scored first.  Not to be outflown, the Jets soon replied with a combo from Simpson to Hooey to Boyd to net.  The clever series led to Josh (#12) stinging it for the Jets first goal of the regular season! At times it was like a Barnum and Bailey circus in front of the net, but level-headed netminder, Bailey Robinson bugged the Hornets by keeping his cool. Jet's #17, Grant, readily activated the grant of a loose puck, turning in an impressive, but uneventful, breakaway.Hornet 17 was grounded and squirming in front of our Jet net, but his persistence paid off with their second goal.  Brady Hunt (#7) careened one, from near the blue line and through air traffic, to collect the 2nd goal for Bancroft.Clearly the coolest goal of the game was an intuitive lazer-like snap of a back swipe from Coulas (#11) to ring in the third goal.  The reverse flyswatter hit its target. In the third period a flotilla of Jets swarmed the wasp's nest and sweetly sent one into the honeycomb for our 4th on the board. Some clever Jet teamwork led to a trickler for our fifth goal, garnered by Caleb Grant. The final goal went from Boyd to Simpson, as Ethan's accuracy finalized the game at 6-2 for our Jets.It was definitely not a game that droned on.  We look forward to intersecting with these flying insects later in the season.
