Atom Rep Jets Score 18 Goals Over Weekend
After their home-opener on September 28 th against Brighton, the Carstar Bancroft Auto Body Atom RepJets travelled this past weekend to face Gananoque and Tweed as part of a 3-game road trip.
The game on Saturday against the Gananoque Islanders was action-packed with both teams facing
significant offensive pressure. While the Islanders took advantage of the Jets slow start, the Jets came
to life in the second period with an offensive flurry of their own. The end score was 17-10 for the
Islanders, but the Jets departed with a positive outlook on the games ahead. The Jets’ Riley Kavanagh (2
goals, 7 assists) and Kieran Cox (5 goals, 2 assists) lead the scoring, with the support of their teammates.
Coming off the scoring spree in Gananoque, Sunday’s game in Tweed was an opportunity to see if the
team could rebound from Saturday. The Jets came out with a game plan focused on offensive pressure
coupled with defensive strategies that proved to frustrate the Hawks. Jets goaltender Rylan Musclow
rebounded to provide all the security in the net needed for the Jets to execute their game plan, with
goals scored by 7 of the team’s 10 skaters resulting in the Jets’ first win of the season, with a final score
of 8-4 for the Jets.
The Jets round out their early season road trip on Tuesday night in Norwood, then are finally back home
at the NHCC on Friday night against Campbellford at 7:00pm. Please come out and support the team!
