The Wilson Timber Mart Novice Rep Jets hit the road this past weekend facing the Douro Dukes on Thursday, the Tweed Hawks on Saturday, and Loyalist on Sunday.

Thursday night’s game was the Jets’ first meeting with the Dukes of Douro this season. The post-school day vanlag got worked out by the second period and the Jets were up 3-1 at the end of the second, with goals by Ryder Hooey, Brody Harrison, and Riley Kavanagh, assists to Mason Gibson, Brody Harrison, and Jack Peters. But the Dukes never gave up, and took advantage of opportunities given by the Jets, and battled back in the third. With the score tied at 3-3, and the assistance of 2 penalties called against the Jets in the final minutes, the Dukes potted the tiebreaker and stole the win with a final score of 4-3.

On Saturday, the Jets travelled to Tweed to face the Hawks. The Jets had up to 20 scoring chances, but were only able to get 2 past Hawks hot goalie Jacob MacDonald, and the Hawks battled to a 3-2 win over the Jets. Jets goals to Brody Harrison and Mason Gibson, helpers to Taylor Coe, Lucas Peelow, Riley Kavanagh, and Chloe Hudder.

To round out the busy weekend, the Jets faced Loyalist on the shores of Lake Ontario for their first meeting of the season. At the end of the second, the score was tied at 1 each, with good end to end play, and plenty of good scoring opportunities for the Jets. Through the third frame, and again with late penalties called against the Jets, Loyalist held on to squeak out a 4-3 win.
