Novice Rep Jets Start Long Road Tour on a Win
No rest for the Jets this weekend – after hosting their annual Mineral
Capital Cup tournament with great success, the Wilson Timber Mart Novice Rep
Jets packed up early and headed south to face-off against the Brighton Braves
on Sunday at high noon.
Despite the cookies, cupcakes, and cake pops consumed throughout the tourney on Saturday, the Jets started the game a bit sluggish, but by the end of the first, had ramped up the pressure on the Braves. Moving into the second period, Ryder Hooey got the Jets on the scoresheet potting his first and second goals of the game, split by Kieran Cox’s first, with assists to Reid McEathron and Brody Harrison. At the end of the second, the Jets lead 3-1.
For the final frame, the Jets came out with full afterburners, scoring five unanswered goals, starting with Kieran Cox’s second and third (hatty!) of the game, assisted by Mason Gibson and Jack Peters (2). The next three were buried by Brody Harrison (hatty!), with assists to Chloe Hudder and Ryder Hooey. The final marker of the game to seal the win came from Mason Gibson, with an assist to Brody Harrison. Final score 9-2 for the Jets, a welcome start to an extended road tour over the next few weeks for the Novice Jets.
The Jets next game at home is on Saturday, December 16th, at the NHCC.
