Novice Jets split a pair of games on the road
The Wilson Timber Mart Novice Rep Jets headed out this past weekend for their first road trip of the season to Prince Edward County and Napanee.

On Saturday the Jets faced off against the Prince Edward County Kings in Wellington. The vanlag was apparent, and the Jets weren’t able to bury their chances, finishing with a tough 6-1 loss to the Kings at the final buzzer.

On Sunday, the Jets rallied and played up to their potential, facing the Napanee Stars at their home barn.  The Jets got on the board early against the Stars, with Ryder Hooey rushing from his defensive position and netting his first of two, only 20 seconds into the game.  At the end of the second period, the game was tied 1-1.  After balanced two-way play in the second,  the third period turned into a shoot-out, with Napanee scoring 3, and the Jets answering back with 4 by Riley Kavanagh, Brody Harrison, Kieran Cox, and Ryder Hooey’s second of the match.  Helpers from Ryder Hooey and Mason Gibson were noted, and strong team defensive play, especially in the fast paced final minutes of the third, held off the shooting Stars’ desperate attempts to tie up the game.

The Jets have an action-packed weekend coming up, in Stirling on Friday night, and home games on Saturday and Sunday at 3:00pm at the NHCC.  Saturday’s home game includes special recognition for Child Abuse Awareness, so especially invite you out to enjoy the fun!
