The Vito's Pizzeria Peewee Jets make Quater finals at Silver Stick Tournament
The Vito's Pizzeria Peewee Jets were in Pembroke this past weekend to take part in the 32nd annual Regional Silver Stick Tournament.

Their weekend began on a strong note Friday night as the Jets skated away with their first win in the round robin portion of the tournament by a score of 6-1 over the Alexandria Glens.  Scoring for the Jets was Brady Hunt, Keegan Anderson, Cody Switzer, Colson Jenkins, Tyson Carr and Eric Hall.  Chipping in with the helpers was Trevor McDowell, Hall, Owen Fergusson (2), Jenkins, Connor Sobry, Ryker Huygens, Jonathan Young and James Armstrong.  Phillip Cannon stood tall in the Jets' cage for the win.

In their second game of the tournament, the team faced the Renfrew Timberwolves.  The  Jets' strong defensive play was on full display in this game as they shut out the Timberwolves 5-0.  Jenkins and Fergusson each scored a pair of goals while Hunt contributed to the tally with one of his own.  Assists were provided by Jenkins (2), Fergusson (2) and McDowell.  Ben Landry handled the goaltending duties and picked up the shut out.

Next up was a familiar opponent in the Highland Storm and although it was the Storm that took an early lead, the Jets did not let up and ended up taking the game by a score of 6-3.  Lighting the lamp for the Jets was Carr, Anderson, Jenkins with a hat trick and Fergusson.  Jenkins (2), Fergusson and Anderson also provided the assists.  Phillip Cannon was in the net for the win.

The Jets went into Sunday's quarter finals as the top seed with three wins and lowest goals against, but that would be where their Silver Stick journey would end as they fell to the Smith Falls Bears by a score of 5-1.  Carr (assisted by Hall) scored the lone goal for the Jets while Ben Landry worked the pipes.

Although disappointed with the outcome of the tournament, the Jets look forward to getting back to regular season play where they will host the Napanee Stars on Sunday, Nov 27th.  Come out and cheer on your Jets!  Action gets underway at 3pm!
