Family Day Weekend Race for the Puck
It was a fast race with the Campbellford Colts on Family Day Weekend.
Right off the opening faceoff the Colts were out of the gate with their first goal. Meanwhile, back at the ranch, Hunt went slip slidin' away to score from his own diversion and rebound. The Colts quickly kicked back with their 2nd goal. The Jets readily returned to their game; in position with passing plays. It paid off right away when Coulas fed Genrick to tie it up. A soaring solo saw Hunt corral another puck in the mesh, and the Jets took the lead for the first time. Armstrong also wrangled a prime insurance goal and the hometown crowd was more at home on the range. The first goal of the new period saw Campbellford capitalize during our trouble clearing the puck, ending the 2nd period 4-3 for Bierworth's Jets. Hunt barrel-raced a solo to start the third period off right. Kolton put it to the Colts as Stewart kicked at their traces and tacked our 6th on the board to end the match 6-3. The next game is Friday February 21, at 6 p.m., in Douro against the Dukes.
