Three Wins in Three Days
The Bierworth Bantam Jets were Top Guns in town this past Friday.
A powerful playoff game pounded the frozen tarmac on the Jets' home runway against Duoro Jan 31. Duoro duked the first goal of the game early in the period but the Jets would not be grounded for long as Hunt cruised in and tied it up at the end of the first period. Armstrong saw the need for speed and worked the puck up the ice to assist Boyd who parked the puck in their hangar, so the Jets could take the lead .Stewart kicked into turbo mode and his shot broke the sound barrier for our third on the scoreboard. Simpson deftly snagged a stealth stray, sent from behind the net, and reached Mach 4 on the scoreboard. Wilson soared in and buzzed their tower to post our 5th. Douro would get their second goal before Genrick assisted Hunt's one timer to the top of the mesh for a score of 6-2. The Dukes would score again. Kolton capitalized with a solo fly-by goal as two Jets were in the penalty box. Armstrong strongarmed a wrap around to post a game final of 8-3.
Saturday the Jets defeated the Colts in Campbellford, 9-1.
Sunday's game was in Keene against Otonabee. The Wolves scored first. Armstrong assisted Cox to tie it up. An insurance goal was secured, complements of Simpson. Stewart's wraparound was deflected and assisted Boyd for our third goal. During the same shift, Boyd, won the face-off in Wolf territory and scored again. 4-1. Simpson was ready in the mix to send a shot through traffic, deflecting off Armstrong for the goal. The Wolves would find one more goal to end the game 5-2.
